I will be doing this in installments. As you can probably already tell this is my favorite anime series, at the moment.

Light Yagami (aka Kira/Second L)

Light is a genius 17 year old who is very bored with his life and also finds the world “corrupt”. One day, while looking out his classroom window he sees a notebook falling from the sky. After school lets out he goes to see if it is still there, it is so he picks it up and reads the title “Death Note”. As he inspects the book he reads that the book will kill anyone whose name is written inside of it.

Light thinks it is a hoax and puts it back on the ground but ends up taking it home instead. He tests it out and once he realizes that it is real he makes it his mission to rid the world of evil-doers.

Of course, through the anime and manga, Light is aging. When the series starts, he is 17 years old but gets older so different ages are listed on different websites.
